Description
3M Scotchcast resin splicing kits utilize two-part polyurethane infill compound which is 100% solid, electrical grade and hydrolytically stable insulating resins that exhibits good adhesion to plastic, XLPE, PVC, nylon and all types of metals. Once cured, the resin combines good durability with excellent protection against moisture, salt, oil and many type of chemicals.
Application
3M Scotchcast resin splicing kits are specifically designed for indoor, outdoor (weather exposed), direct buried or submersed application. It is used for the encapsulation of all types of cable joints, power cables, telecommunications and fibre optic cables, with copper or aluminum conductors.
Features
Scotchcast resin MR408 is tested and certified to CENELEC HD 631.1 S2 standard with LMP-W and MMP-W classifications. It has a low exothermic reaction temperature.

Storage
3M™ Scotchcast™ MR408 resin has a shelf life of 36 months when stored between 10°C and 40°C in the original sealed bag. Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable. In this case however, it is the responsibility of the user to determine the applicability of the resin.
Safety and Handling
3M provides its customers with a product specific Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to cover potential health effects, safe handling, storage, use and disposal information. 3M strongly encourages its customers to review the MSDS on its products prior to their use.
